Hennessy Black Cognac is a highly versatile, decidedly different new Cognac from the world’s leading cognac house. On the nose, jasmine floral notes boldly make an immediate statement. Distinctively smooth from its first notes, intense throughout the tasting, it is an alluring and multifaceted Cognac with both delicate floral aromas and complex roundness on the palate. Hints of citrus and honey follow, contributing a softer, warmer note. In the mouth, Hennessy Black keeps these unexpected flavors, also releasing the cleansing characteristics of white flowers and fresh grapes. Carefully selected and subtly matured in old oak barrels, the Hennessy Black is a blend of 35 to 45 unique pale and gold-colored Eau-de-vie play across the palate, revealing the most surprising flavors: a remarkable duality between smoothness and intense freshness. These Eau-de-vie are then aged in French Limousin oak casks, which have been previously used at Hennessy for a more “gentle” maturation, and elegant wood influence.
